Police believe Garrido may have also murdered 15-year-old schoolgirl Lisa Norell, whose body was found in a similar area in November 1998.

Detectives told Lisa Norell's mother Minnie about their suspicions at the weekend.

"It's the first glimmer of hope we have had since my daughter passed away," Ms Norell said.
