This is a case I found on the doe network that pulled at my heart strings big time. He was between 16-21. He died in a van accident as a hitchiker after a Greatful Dead concert in D C . I belive he may have been from or had ties to Falls Church , VA based on a phone number on a note found in his pocket. He had red hair, brown eyes and a home made tatoo of a five pointed star on his arm. Here is a link to site devoted to id'ing this doe and his Doe Network page. www.geocities.com/trying2id/JDpage.html doenetwork.org/cases/127umva.html

www.nydailynews.com/news/national/s-mom-reports-son-missing-20-years-deadhead-article-1.2078020Jason Patrick Callahan, who would now be 38, told his mother he was going on the road to follow the Grateful Dead 20 years ago. And that was the last time the South Carolina woman saw him or heard his voice. This week, she reported him missing. According to a police statement posted on the Smoking Gun website, Margretta Evans called the cops this week to file a missing persons report. It is not clear why she waited so long.

Grateful Doe has been identified as 19 year old Jason Callahan because We all never gave up or let his story die a boy has his name back. A friend of his saw the sketch from NCMEC and called. His mom gave DNA and his ID was confirmed. Thank You for this Christmas Miracle. Clip from article linked at bottom: Jason Callahan left his home in Myrtle Beach to follow the band “The Grateful Dead” on tour. His body was later found at the scene of a crash in Emporia, but he had no identification on him — just a pair of Grateful Dead concert ticket stubs in his pocket. Callahan’s body was never identified, and went unclaimed for years. But earlier this year, his mother filed a missing person’s report. That’s when Myrtle Beach Police came to Virginia to collect DNA samples. That DNA proved the remains belonged to Jason. wtvr.com/2015/12/09/jason-callahan-idd-as-grateful-doe/
