The case of child abuse captured nationwide attention in October 2007 after the plastic container holding Riley's remains washed ashore. Riley, 2, weighed only 12 pounds. Not knowing who the child was, authorities dubbed her "Baby Grace" and asked the media to publicize a sketch of the child hoping that someone might recognize her. Riley's grandmother -- Sheryl Sawyers, who lives in Mentor -- saw the drawing and thought it was Riley. A DNA test confirmed her suspicions. "I wish I hadn't been right," Sawyers said Friday after Zeigler's conviction. Trenor met Zeigler on the Internet playing video games. She packed up Riley and moved to Texas to be with him. The couple married in June 2007. Prosecutors said Trenor and Zeigler killed Riley at their home in suburban Houston a month later during a discipline session intended to teach the child proper manners. Zeigler was upset the 2-year-old didn't consistently use "please" and "thank you," authorities said. Trenor and Zeigler beat Riley with belts, dunked her head in cold bath water and threw her onto a tile floor, fracturing her skull, prosecutors said. An autopsy determined the child died of several skull fractures. www.cleveland.com/nation/index.ssf/2009/11/royce_zeigler_stepfather_of_ba.html Picture is from Facebook for Riley's 6th angelversary Attachments:
