Authorities are still trying to piece together what may have happened to an Arizona teen who was last seen more than five weeks ago.
Newly-released Tempe police reports revealed additional details about the timeline surrounding the disappearance of 19-year-old Adrienne Salinas.
Salinas was last seen by her roommates in the early morning hours of June 15. She was living with two childhood friends and was taking classes at a local community college.
There had been a party at their apartment that night. Her boyfriend told police she got upset with him because he was not paying enough attention to her during the party, the report says.
Salinas’ roommates told police the couple frequently broke up and got back together because they were unable to “define their relationship.”
According to the police report, the boyfriend said he left the apartment and Salinas followed. He drove her to his home in Scottsdale to talk, but they continued to argue.
While he was driving her back to her apartment, he said she got out of his car at a red light and started walking. She left her cell phone behind, so he pulled over, got out and gave it to her, according to the report.
The boyfriend told police he called one of Salinas’ roommates around 3:20 a.m. to tell her Salinas was walking home. The roommate eventually talked to Salinas outside their building and she described Adrienne as “calmly upset.”
Salinas’ other roommate said she saw Adrienne go up to her bedroom briefly once she went inside. Salinas then left the apartment after packing a small bag but she did not give them any instructions to care for her dog, which she normally would do if she expected to be gone for a long period of time.
Around 3:45 a.m., a witness reported seeing what police later identified as Salinas’ car driving erratically and crashing into a curb about about a mile from the apartment. The vehicle drove away despite damaged tires.
The next day, the car was found abandoned a few blocks from Salinas’ apartment with two flat tires. Salinas’ last cell phone activity was a call to a cab company at 5:05 a.m., according to police. Minutes later, her phone was shut down. www.hlntv.com/article/2013/07/24/adrienne-salinas-mystery-missing-tempe-teen
Please note she was recovering from Valley fever at the time of her disappearance.
